Ely Monster Middle

Race Report

My plan for the race was pretty simple really, well on paper it was I wanted to win it as there was £450 up for grabs but as it was the first day of the training camp I didn’t want to kill myself.

In the end I swam hard as I knew this would be a good opportunity to take a chunk of time out of the others, I got out of the water in 2/3rd with first place just 10 seconds ahead and then managed to take the lead after half a mile. After that I didn’t see anyone else for the rest of the bike and run until just after the half way point as it was an out and back. I saw that I had a big gap so shut it down for the rest of the run. The temperature was scorching and aid stations were scarce which made it very hard.
